For Lawyers, In Your Jurisdiction
AI legal case management for law firms that checks every citation against authoritative legal sources and links you to the actual source — an AI you can check, not just trust, so you never file hallucinated law; reads the bench so your strategy is sharper; and does the busywork so you bill the work that matters.

See it in action
A short tour: open a matter, let Sage research and draft with verified, linked citations, and keep your client updated — all in one place.
Why it matters
Every citation Sage gives you is checked against authoritative legal sources and comes with a link to the actual source, and the Citator flags possible negative treatment for you to confirm. The class of error that drew sanctions in Zhang v. Chen simply does not leave the building.
Profile the presiding judge or decision-maker from their reported decisions, see your firm’s win-rate by issue and adjudicator, and stress-test arguments against an AI judge before the hearing.
Deadlines compute themselves from the rules, documents organise into chapters on upload, and court-ready drafts come back with a verified Table of Authorities. The hours you save go back to clients.
The Problem
The tools lawyers use daily have not caught up with the risks AI introduces. Juris is built to close that gap.
Zhang v. Chen (2024 BCSC 285) is the cautionary tale. A lawyer who filed AI-generated material with invented citations was ordered to pay special costs. Every unverified citation is a liability.
PDFs in email, notes in Word, authorities in browser tabs. When a client calls, it takes 20 minutes to pull context that should be instant. You are billing for organizational overhead.
Per-user billing, fees on every integration, and zero meaningful AI. You are paying enterprise rates for a glorified billing tool that does not help you argue better in a hearing room.
How It Works
Create a Shelf for each practice area. Add Cases with client details. Structure Chapters for evidence, correspondence, and authorities. Every matter has its place.
Drag in PDFs. Juris OCRs and embeds them automatically. Flag privileged documents — excluded from all AI processing at the database level.
Ask Sage to research, investigate, or analyze your case. Then draft a brief, letter, or factum in your own writing voice — export as Word or PDF with your letterhead.
Open the Practice section. Face a simulated judge or decision-maker for your forum. Get your arguments challenged, scored, and strengthened — before you appear at a real hearing.

Meet Sage
An owl — because wisdom is knowing what you do not know. Sage surfaces the cases, the contradictions, and the gaps. You do the lawyering.
Sage searches the authoritative law for your jurisdiction — verified for Canada and the United States today, with more jurisdictions coming soon — pulls supporting research such as country condition reports where a matter calls for it, and analyzes your case documents. Then checks every citation against those sources, links you to the original, and flags anything it can't verify. If a case can't be confirmed, Sage tells you rather than presenting it as established law.
Meet Sage
Sage searches authoritative legal sources, checks its citations against them, links you to each source, and flags anything unverified, and reasons across your case documents — with your review and approval before anything leaves the platform.
What is the test for granting an interlocutory injunction in Canada?
The governing test is the three-part framework from 2018 SCC 6: (1) a serious question to be tried, (2) irreparable harm if the injunction is refused, and (3) a balance of convenience favouring the moving party. The same framework applies across civil and administrative matters.
Sage is an AI companion, not a lawyer. Verify before you rely.
Demo conversations are illustrative. Real Sage responses are generated live using authoritative legal sources, country-condition reports, and your uploaded case documents.
Features
Every feature was designed around professional obligations — not product-market fit shortcuts.
Your client data never touches another firm's data. Every tenant gets a dedicated database schema — legally defensible, auditable, and PIPEDA-compliant.
Organize matters the way a senior partner thinks: practice areas as shelves, cases as books, chapters for evidence, correspondence, and medical records.
Upload a PDF. Juris OCRs it, embeds it, and makes it searchable by Sage. Ask what a medical report says about a specific incident and get an answer with a source reference.
Flag a document as privileged and it is excluded from all AI processing — enforced in the database query, not an afterthought in the prompt.
Send a portal link to a client or expert witness. They authenticate via email OTP — no account needed. Every document view is logged. Revoke access in one click.
Client data is encrypted, isolated per firm, and never used to train AI, never sold. You can export or delete it anytime. A genuinely confidential posture, at a fraction of the cost of big-firm tools.
Upload previous briefs or appeals — Sage learns your writing style. Draft an appeal, factum, letter, or motion and export as Word (.docx) or PDF with your firm letterhead.
Switch Sage modes without leaving the case. Act as a judge to stress-test your arguments, an investigator to map evidence gaps, or a structured analyst to assess case risk.
Face a simulated judge or decision-maker for your forum. Get interrupted, challenged, and questioned on weak points. Receive a scored performance report on clarity, citations, structure, and completeness.
Before you rely on a case, Sage scans authoritative sources and the web for negative treatment — overruled, reversed, distinguished — and flags the risk, with a prompt to confirm in an authoritative citator.
Set a trigger date and the rule, and Juris computes the deadline, cites the rule it comes from, and emails you 14, 7, and 1 day ahead — automatically. Immigration deadline presets ship in; build your own rule for any practice area. You confirm; nothing is filed for you.
See your outcomes by issue, by presiding judge, and over time. Know which arguments and which adjudicators your firm wins in front of — your own track record, not guesswork.
The Alternative
Research you can trust, drafting that sounds like you, deadlines that never slip — the firepower of a big firm's tech stack, on every plan. The first 25 firms lock today's founding rate for life.
One lawyer, everything included. The research, drafting, and case intelligence a big firm pays a fortune for — built for you.
For a team — billed simply per lawyer. Every seat gets the complete platform, and you add seats as you grow.
Most firms pay for practice management and a separate legal AI — two subscriptions, two logins, and the AI can't even see your matter. Juris is both, in one, reading the same file — from $89 a lawyer.
Custom-built for larger firms: dedicated onboarding, SSO, custom integrations and compliance packages.
14‑day free trial on every plan · no credit card to start · prices in USD · cancel anytime. Founding rate stays locked while your firm is continuously subscribed.
Questions
AI in legal practice is new. We've answered the questions your managing partner will ask — about privacy, training, accuracy, and your duties.
No. Nothing you put into Juris — documents, notes, research, or drafts — is ever used to train Juris's AI or any third‑party model. Sage reads your matter only to answer you, in that moment, and never to improve a model. Your work stays yours alone. This is enforced in the architecture, not just a policy we could quietly change.
Any AI can generate a citation that isn't real — that is exactly the risk Juris is built to catch. Every citation Sage relies on is checked against authoritative legal sources before it reaches you, and anything it can't verify is clearly flagged. You review and adopt the research as your own before relying on it, so you never unknowingly file law that does not exist.
Your data never touches another firm's data. Juris uses schema-per-tenant isolation — every firm gets a dedicated database schema. Privilege-flagged documents are excluded from all AI processing at the database query level, not the prompt level. There is no way for Sage to see a document you have flagged as privileged. Your data is never used to train AI and is never sold.
Your matter content is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated per firm so it never mixes with another firm's, and never used to train AI. It is never sold, never rented, never handed to advertisers, and yours to export or delete anytime. Aligned with PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA.
You do — completely. Everything you create in Juris (drafts, research, notes, exports) is your work product: yours to use, edit, share with co‑counsel, or take with you. Juris claims no ownership over your content or over Sage's output for your matters.
Every major Canadian law society — LSBC, LSO, Law Society of Alberta, Barreau du Québec — has issued guidance permitting AI tools in legal practice provided the lawyer exercises appropriate oversight. Juris's verification workflow is specifically designed around that standard: AI output is watermarked until you complete a documented review. The record of your review is stored and auditable.
The verification workflow is your protection. Every piece of Sage output is watermarked [Unverified] until you complete a review checklist: checking each citation against its authoritative source, tracing every factual claim to a source, and formally adopting the research as your own. The law has always required this standard of professional diligence — Juris just makes it faster, documented, and auditable.
Your data is yours. You can export a complete copy of your case files, documents, and notes yourself at any time from Settings → Data — so you're never locked in. If your trial ends or you cancel, your data is kept safe and stays exportable — you'll just need an active plan to keep using Juris. We only permanently delete accounts after 24 months of inactivity (with email warnings first), and we give at least 30 days' notice before any service discontinuation.
Yes. Juris is built with PIPEDA and Alberta PIPA compliance as design requirements, not afterthoughts. We collect only the minimum data necessary, all AI processing is disclosed in our Privacy Policy, and you have full access, correction, and deletion rights. Our Privacy Policy details every data flow.
General-purpose AI tools have no access to authoritative legal sources, no citation verification, no privilege protection, no case file context, and no verification workflow. They will generate confident-sounding citations that do not exist. Juris was built specifically around the risks that caused Zhang v. Chen (2024 BCSC 285): automatic citation verification, privilege exclusion at the data layer, and a documented review process before any AI output leaves the platform.
Minutes. Create a matter, add your documents — upload, scan or photograph them, email them into a case, or sync a Google Drive folder — and ask Sage your first question. There's no migration project, no IT setup, and no software to install. Most lawyers run real research in their first session.
Yes. Juris is designed for the entire firm, not just the lead lawyer. Clerks and paralegals can upload documents, organise matters, and use the client portal. The AI features require a licensed professional to verify outputs — the appropriate division of responsibility. Firm plans are billed simply per lawyer, so you add seats as you grow.

Your data
Sage checks the law. Juris guards the matter. Your clients' confidences are walled off, encrypted, and never turned into training data, so the most sensitive thing in your practice stays the safest thing on the platform.
Mark a document as privileged and it is excluded from all AI processing at the database level. Not filtered after the fact. Walled off before anything reads it.
Nothing you upload is ever used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. Your work stays your work, and only yours.
Every file and every record is encrypted on the way in and while it sits. Your matter content is unreadable to anyone without the keys.
Your matter content belongs to your firm. Export it or delete it whenever you want, and it is walled off from every other firm. Never used to train AI, never sold.
Your information is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. Kwata makes money from the product, not from your data.
Private by design · Encrypted in transit and at rest · Export or delete your data anytime · We never sell your data
